Chapter 514: An Unexpected Helper

The encirclement kept tightening, and Liu Yutong and her group’s room to maneuver was reduced once again. The situation was already critical.

The leader, Brother Qi, unhurriedly lit a cigarette. After taking a deep drag and slowly exhaling, he narrowed his eyes as he observed the women who were still fighting back with all their might.

This guy seemed to be thoroughly enjoying this game of being in complete control.

He had to hand it to them—these women were definitely the most capable fighters he had ever seen.

Unfortunately…

He shook his head and took another drag on his cigarette.

Meanwhile.

Liu Yutong and the others were also communicating rapidly.

“With all this commotion, if we can just hold on a little longer, reinforcements or the cops are bound to show up.”

“Suddenly I’m really missing Brother Yun and the others. If even one of them were here, they’d make these guys pay!”

“These guys showed up so suddenly, it’s too weird. I keep feeling like they weren’t originally after us.”

“I get that feeling too. It must be a coincidence, or else we just have the worst luck.”

“We can’t just let this slide!”

“Of course not!”

“……”

Their guess was indeed correct. This group had originally been chasing a bunch of green-haired punks, but had just happened to run into them.

And the culprits who had led this group over here were currently watching from the shadows.

“Boss, are we just gonna stand here and watch?”

“Of course! The boss is so smart, he’s definitely gonna wait until both sides are battered before making a move. Haven’t you heard that saying? When the snipe and the clam grapple, the old man profits.”

“……….”

Liu Hao watched the arrogant-looking Brother Qi smoking his cigarette, then glanced at Liu Yutong and the other women. Finally, he made up his mind.

“Motherfuckers!”

“These South City bastards are going too far! Chasing me down is one thing, but now they want to mess with my enemy? This is absolutely fucking unbearable!”

His underlings: “???”

“Boss, isn’t there something a little off with your logic there?”

“Boss, do you mean we should jump in right now?”

“I think that’s doable! Vulture Master’s people have a grudge against us too. We can settle old and new scores with that she-devil all at once! It’s called… right, it’s called one arrow, two birds!”

“Birds my ass! You don’t know shit!”

Liu Hao cursed irritably, “You think that she-devil is so easy to capture? A starved camel is still bigger than a horse. Even if she looks battered right now, do you know how many brothers she has under her command? It would scare you shitless just hearing it.”

“Besides, if she hadn’t inexplicably clashed with Vulture Master’s people last time, we would have been wiped out by that Brother Pao long ago.”

“Although that she-devil did it unintentionally, we people of the underworld must honor the distinction between gratitude and grievance. If we owe someone a favor and don’t repay it, it leaves a bad feeling in our hearts!”

The underlings exchanged glances, somewhat stunned by their boss’s sudden display of street code.

“When we’re usually seizing territory or extorting people, we never see you being this particular about honor!”

Right at that moment, the battle situation suddenly changed!

A thug wielding a chain, taking advantage of Lan Die being somewhat overwhelmed, suddenly whipped his arm and lashed the chain viciously at Lan Die’s right leg.

Although Lan Die had strong combat instincts and subconsciously made an evasive movement when the chain was about to hit her, she was ultimately half a beat too slow. Or rather, to protect Liu Yutong and Su Mansu behind her, she chose to take the hit head-on.

Crack!

A dull sound of impact rang out.

Lan Die grunted. Her right leg instantly buckled, nearly dropping her to one knee.

She forcibly steadied herself with her hands on the ground, but it was clear that her right leg could no longer generate full power. Her movements became sluggish.

“Lan Die!”

“Sister Lan!”

Both of their hearts sank.

“I’m fine!” Lan Die gritted her teeth and straightened up again. Her voice was still cold, though fine beads of cold sweat had already formed on her forehead.

Seeing this, Brother Qi elegantly flicked his cigarette ash and sneered, “A dying struggle.”

“Finish them off quickly. The cops will be here soon!”

Hearing this, the attacking thugs became even more ferocious, directing all their strikes toward the injured Lan Die and Liu Yutong’s group.

The pressure instantly doubled!

“Brother Hao, look! That cold-faced beauty doesn’t look like she can hold on anymore!” One sharp-eyed underling immediately reported.

Liu Hao naturally also saw the scene of Lan Die getting injured. Feeling that he couldn’t wait any longer, his resolve hardened.

“I’ve decided: That she-devil Liu Yutong can only be beaten by me! No one else! Especially not these South City fuckers! Brothers, grab your weapons! Follow me! Let’s fuck them up!”

What he was doing actually involved an element of gambling.

For one thing, it would repay a previous favor to Liu Yutong. For another, he was tired of running.

From Wushui County to Pearl City, then to South City, starting over again and again—he was getting sick of it.

And he always felt that wherever he set up shop, Liu Yutong’s Wanlong Society would inevitably show up, sticking to him like a plaster. He couldn’t possibly avoid confrontation every single time, could he?

What kind of underworld life would that be!

By stepping in to help her this time, he would clear the slate of both gratitude and grievance.

From then on, they’d be like well water not mixing with river water—he wouldn’t have to run at the sight of her and could focus on developing his Heaven’s Eye Gang in peace.

Liu Hao hesitated no longer. He stepped out of the alley entrance.

Behind him, that group of green-haired underlings also raised their weapons and followed out aggressively, charging straight at that gang of thugs.

Just as the bespectacled Brother Qi was watching his underlings about to take down those women.

Suddenly! An angry shout came from behind!

“South City dog-fuckers, let go of that she-devil… no, let go of those girls!”

This voice came rather suddenly. Everyone on the battlefield couldn’t help but pause, stopping their hands as they turned to look at the source of the sound.

There they saw a group of green-hairs led by Liu Hao. Having finished their shout, they charged into the fray from the flank with weapons raised.

Liu Hao shouted toward Liu Yutong while swinging his steel pipe: “Liu Yutong, don’t you fucking misunderstand! I’m just doing the right thing by helping out—I’m not specifically here to save you! Once we’re done with these dog-fuckers, you and I can settle our accounts slowly!”

Although he and his group of green-haired underlings looked ridiculous, they had plenty of fighting experience. Plus, they had a bellyful of frustration from being hunted down. Now that they’d found an outlet for it, they howled as they charged at Brother Qi’s crew, instantly making the scene even more chaotic.

The composure on Brother Qi’s face instantly vanished. He threw away his cigarette butt, his gaze turning so gloomy it looked like it could drip water.

“Heaven’s Eye, you green-haired turtle dare to show your face? Perfect! I’ll deal with you too!”

Liu Hao knocked down a thug, pointing his steel pipe directly at Brother Qi: “Four-eyes! Cut the fucking crap! I can’t stand you dog-fuckers who bully the few with the many, especially when you’re picking on women! Eat shit!”

Brother Qi was so angry he laughed: “Fine! Fine! Fine! Since you green-haired turtles insist on seeking death, I’ll grant you your wish! Waste them all!”

At his command, a large portion of the thugs attacking Liu Yutong immediately turned their weapons around to meet Liu Hao and his men.

Liu Yutong and her group instantly felt the pressure drop dramatically, and they all breathed a sigh of relief.

She glanced at Liu Hao, who was shouting and charging into the battlefield, and was genuinely surprised.

She had never imagined that her second encounter with this guy Liu Hao would be in South City, and that he would actually take the initiative to help.

Although she didn’t know what his real purpose was, it was extremely advantageous for her.
