Chapter 481: All Talk?
South City.
A bustling night market street, thick with the aroma of grilled food.
Shen Hao, Zhu Silin, and Bai Shisui were currently parked on plastic stools at a roadside barbecue stall, chowing down on skewers.
They had just come from the private club.
During this period, they had pretty much completed all the prep work. Equipment was in place, personnel were assigned, and all necessary greasing of palms was taken care of.
Moving such a huge sum of funds overseas required jumping through a lot of bureaucratic hoops; if they didn’t line things up in advance, problems could arise.
However, this wasn’t particularly difficult for their Yunshan Society.
In fact, if Liu Yutong tried to handle it herself, it would have been much harder and more troublesome, likely causing significant delays.
That was one of the reasons Liu Yutong had been willing to let Zhou Muchen and the others join in on the profit-making.
Connections made everything more efficient.
As for the other reason, naturally, she got to take half of their profits as her own commission.
This wasn’t a small amount—conservative estimates put it at seven or eight billion.
Combined with the returns from the funds she had raised on her side, she would become an overnight billionaire!
Midnight was when cravings hit the hardest.
Being able to grab some barbecue with beer was pure bliss.
Shen Hao and his friends had basically come out because they were hungry.
The three of them were drinking beer, demolishing skewers, and naturally the conversation turned to stocks.
Shen Hao took a swig of beer and asked with a grin, “Hey ladies, say this thing really works out—how much do you think we’ll rake in? Is this number enough?”
As he spoke, he gestured with his hand.
Bai Shisui shook her head. “I wouldn’t know. I just hope we don’t lose our principal.”
Zhu Silin looked astonished. “Wait, Shisui, you really have that little confidence?”
Bai Shisui smiled faintly. “It’s mainly because I don’t really understand this stuff. I saw you all investing, so I just followed along. Anyway, I trust you guys.”
“No matter how much we make in the end, what I want most right now is to focus on my fashion design, win a big award someday, and become the best designer.”
“Fine, fine,” Zhu Silin said. “But I’ve seen Big Sis Yutong’s account—her rate of return is absolutely insane. I’ve never seen anyone achieve such high returns. With her at the helm, plus how thoroughly we prepared and personally oversaw every step, I think we can at least double our money, right?”
“Double?” Shen Hao exclaimed. “Ladies, you two are way too conservative! I’d say even if we double, it should be in US dollars! Starting at two billion US dollars!”
“Converted to Chinese Yuan, that’s over a hundred billion! We’re going to make a killing this time!”
“Once this money’s in hand, let’s see who still dares to call us useless trust-fund brats who only know how to eat, drink, and have fun!”
“And I’ll make the old man hand over the Chairman position to me. Only I, Shen Hao, am worthy of being the Shen family heir!”
Zhu Silin deliberately teased, “And if your dad refuses to give it to you, and insists on giving it to your younger brother?”
Shen Hao snorted coldly and slammed his glass onto the table. “Then I’ll split off from the family! Who’s afraid of whom!”
“……..”
The three of them had already had a few drinks, and since they were discussing money—a topic everyone loves—their voices unconsciously grew louder and louder.
Zhu Silin and Bai Shisui were still okay. The two women naturally weren’t very loud to begin with, and given their upbringing as daughters of prestigious families, they had good manners and rarely made a racket in public that would disturb others.
But Shen Hao was different. It seemed he had been repressing himself for a long time, and the more he talked, the more excited he became, fully revealing the flamboyant nature of a rich young master.
Plus, his constant talk of deals worth tens of billions, even hundreds of billions, sounded jarring to the ordinary diners around them.
There’s a limit to how much you can blow smoke!
“Pfft!”
At the neighboring table, three garishly dressed youths with full sleeve tattoos finally couldn’t hold back their laughter.
Especially the one with bleached blond hair, a cigarette dangling from his lips, who tilted his head and said to his companions, “Holy shit, did you hear that? Tens of billions in profit? And in US dollars? This dude’s blowing so much smoke, even Gates would have to offer him a cigarette! Hahaha…”
“No kidding! A project worth tens of billions of US dollars—afraid the sky will collapse from all that hot air!”
“How many dishes did they order to get this wasted? They didn’t even order a plate of peanuts and they’re already this delusional?”
The tall, skinny one among the three deliberately pulled out his phone and, in a voice loud enough for Shen Hao’s group to hear, pretended to make a call: “Yo! Big Bear! Hurry up, bring a few hundred brothers to the night market! I’ve got a poser here whose bragging could flip an aircraft carrier! Yeah! When you get here, we’ll cut off that bragging mouth of his!”
The smile on Shen Hao’s face instantly froze, his expression darkening at a speed visible to the naked eye.
What the hell? These punks were actually saying he was full of shit?
And they wanted to cut off his mouth?
They had some nerve!
He slammed the table with a resounding smack and shot to his feet: “Motherfuckers! Who are you calling a blowhard? Looking for a beating, are you?!”
Zhu Silin quickly reached out and tugged at Shen Hao’s sleeve. “Shen Hao, ignore them. They’re just drunk thugs, not worth it.”
Hearing this, Shen Hao took a deep breath, forcibly suppressed his rage, and sat back down, planning to settle the bill and leave.
If this had been any other time, if some small-time punks dared mock him like this, he would have taught them a lesson they’d never forget!
Shen Hao thought he was letting them off easy, but the three thugs had no intention of letting it go at that.
Then they all stood up in unison, each grabbing an empty beer bottle, and swaggered over.
The bleached-haired leader slammed his bottle onto their table with a loud crash and stared at Shen Hao arrogantly.
“What? We can’t call out your bullshit?”
“You’ve got money to brag but none for sober-up pills? Look at your sorry ass, like you could cough up a billion in hell money!”
“Tens of billions! US dollars! Ptooey! “
After spitting toward Shen Hao, he sleazily turned his head toward Zhu Silin and Bai Shisui, his gaze roaming over them without restraint.
Girls of Zhu and Bai’s background naturally had looks and poise that were beyond reproach.
“Hey there, beautiful ladies, you better open your eyes wide. Don’t get fooled by this pretty boy—some people love to bullshit women these days.”
“Why hang with trash like this when you can come have fun with us brothers? We’ll guarantee you’ll see what real ‘strength’ looks like, heh heh…”
Shen Hao’s rage could no longer be contained.
Once again, he slammed the table with a bang and stood up, his eyes chillingly cold.
“I’m warning you—better roll the hell away right now! Otherwise, you’ll bear the consequences!”
